LEGENDS FIGHT SERIES // FIGHT ANNOUNCEMENT
Friday, June 5, 2026 | ForeFront Field | Avon, OH
Broadcasting on Combat Sports Now

The 71 corridor is about to get loud.
When Legends Fight Series kicks off its inaugural event LFS Friday Night Fights: The Rising — at ForeFront Field on Friday, June 5, the card delivers an incredible amateur MMA match:
Drew “Ether” Hatcher (2-2-0) of Elyria vs. Ty “Da Spida” Oliver (1-1-0) of Mt. Vernon.
Cleveland vs. Columbus. A welterweight scrap with the kind of Cleveland-Columbus tension combat sports fight fans never need an explanation for.
Why This Fight Lands
This is where legends are made, the slogan of Legends Fight Series. Amateur MMA is where the next generation of pros gets built. Matched right, an amateur fight can be as entertaining for fans as any pro fight. There’s no purse to play it safe for. There’s no record to protect. There’s just two fighters who showed up to find out.

Hatcher and Oliver both have some incredible finishes under their belt. Both come in fresh off the experience that comes with mixed records, wins that taught them what works and losses that taught them what they still have to fix. That’s the matchup. Two welterweights with something to prove, walking through the same cage door, under the lights of ForeFront field.
Drew “Ether” Hatcher — The Cleveland Boy
Out of Elyria, Ohio straight out of the Cleveland metro Hatcher fights under the moniker “Ether,” and the name fits. He’s the hometown fighter on this card. ForeFront Field sits in Avon, fifteen minutes from his front door, and the building will know it. Friends, family, training partners, and the Cleveland MMA scene that’s been quietly producing fighters for decades will all be in that crowd.
At 2-2-0, Hatcher has fought tough on both sides of the win column. He’s the more experienced fighter on paper, and he’s the one with the home cage advantage. When the lights come on June 5, expect Cleveland to make sure he hears them.

Ty “Da Spida” Oliver — Central Ohio’s Welterweight
“Da Spida” comes in from Mt. Vernon, Ohio Knox County, due north of Columbus repping Lashley Training Center. At 1-1-0, Oliver is the early-career fighter in this matchup, but anyone who’s followed him knows the nickname isn’t decoration. Ty is a Backyard Fighting League (BFL) Hall of Fame inductee and is ready to climb the LFS ladder.

Fresh off his explosive win for Ohio Combat League’s Arnold Classic show at Kemba Live in Columbus, he’s walking into Cleveland’s turf. But that’s exactly the kind of pressure amateur fighters need to feel before they make the leap. Beat the local boy in front of his own crowd and you don’t just take the W. You take the night.

Hardrock Made the Match
LFS Matchmaker Brandon “Hardrock” Higdon 20 years deep in the game, the man who built fight cards for Hardrock MMA, B2 Fighting Series, and Ohio Combat League before bringing his book to Legends Fight Series — sees this one clearly:
“This is the kind of fight that makes the regional scene matter. You’ve got a Cleveland boy in Hatcher walking into his own backyard, and you’ve got Oliver coming up from Central Ohio to take it from him. Cleveland vs. Columbus, in a cage, on the opening night of Legends Fight Series — that’s the matchup amateur MMA fans show up for. Both these guys came to fight. Neither one’s looking for a soft landing. That’s why we made the match.”
— Brandon “Hardrock” Higdon, LFS Matchmaker
The Rising Starts Here
LFS Friday Night Fights: The Rising is the launch of something bigger — a new era of combat sports in Ohio, broadcast nationally on Combat Sports Now, built by promoters who came up through the regional grind and know what fighters and fans deserve.
Hatcher vs. Oliver is one of the matchups setting the tone for the night. Cleveland will be loud. Columbus will travel. The cage will tell us who’s right.
